Godanti Bhasma (also spelled Gondanti Bhasam) is a well-known mineral-based Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Gypsum. In chemistry, it is known as Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate ($CaSO_4 \cdot 2H_2O$).
In Ayurveda, the raw gypsum undergoes a rigorous process of purification (Shodhana) and incineration (Marana)—often triturated with juices like Aloe vera or lemon—until it turns into a fine, white, highly bioavailable ash (Bhasma).
